Cloves

Cloves have moderately strong germicidal properties. Clove oil is effective against fungal infections such as athlete's foot.

Eugenol is the active ingredient in Cloves and remains on of the major pain relieving agents used by doctors today. For many years Clove oil was the standard toothache remedy. It has anesthetic properties of some effectiveness as well as disinfectant properties.

It is known to increase circulation of the blood, and there by promote digestion and nutrition. It is helpful in nausea and vomiting. Many herbalists recommend steeping clove buds in boiling water to cure nausea and to rid the stomach and intestines of gas.

Cloves found in the grocery stores have been found to have much less strength than those purchased from herbal stores. The properties will be the strongest in freshly ground buds which can be ground by a coffee grinder or other type of mill, even a Vitamix works. Ground buds purchased from Wilderness Family Naturals are much stronger than what you find in the stores and we have found them quite effective.

Cloves are one of the ingredients in Hulda Clarks formula for ridding to body of parasites. It is the ground cloves in her formula that help to eliminate parasite eggs.  While wormwood is used for the adult parasites, there are still larva and eggs that need to be removed and it is the ground cloves that she believes will do this most effectively
