Wormwood

Wormwood is a good remedy for liver troubles and jaundice.

It will expel worms and is good in chronic diarrhea. It has been useful for all complaints of the digestive tract such as constipation and indigestion. It is quite helpful for an acid stomach.

It was used medicinally for colds.

Fomentations wrung out of the hot tea are excellent for use in rheumatism, sore eyes, to reduce swelling and for sprains and for wounds. It will help with arthritis when taken internally as well. Both externally and internally, Wormwood will stop bleeding. It has been used as a hair tonic and some herbalists believe it will reduce hair loss. Wormwood is an invigorating, aromatic herb that has antiseptic qualities. Wormwood has long been used as an insect repellent.

Wormwood promotes menstruation, stimulates uterine circulation and will also help relieve menstrual cramps. It should not be taken during pregnancy. It stimulates uterine contractions and can be toxic in large doses.

Steep 1 heaping tsp in a cup of boiling water for 30 minutes. Drink one cup/day. cup. We don't like the taste of wormwood and prefer to take capsules.

Hepatic: This herb supports and stimulates the liver, gall bladder, and spleen, and increase the flow of bile

Narcotic: This herb causes stupor and numbness

Parasiticide: This herb kills parasites and worms

Stimulant:

Stomachic: This herb strengthens stomach function

Styptic: This herb contracts blood vessels and will stop a hemorrhage by astringent action

Tonic: This herb restores, nourishes, and supports the entire body; it exerts a gently strengthening effect on the body

Vermifuge: This herb expels or repels intestinal worms
