Wild Cherry Tree Bark

Wild Cherry Tree Bark tea has primarily been used for treating diarrhea and ailments of the lungs. It is excellent as a tonic used for colds and can improve asthma. Wild Cherry tree bark’s tonic action is mild, soothing, and slightly astringent to the mucous membranes, especially those of the respiratory tract. The colonists used the bark for cough syrups because it is a very useful expectorant.

It was also used as an ingredient in tonics and as a tea or extract to expel worms. It is a remedy for stomach irritation type problems such as ulcers, gastritis, colitis, diarrhea, and dysentery. It is a remedy for heart problems when it is caused by stomach problems. It is a tonic to the stomach and improves digestion by stimulating the gastric glands.

Poultices made of Wild Cherry Tree Bark were used to treat ulcers and abscesses.
